Talks, Teaching, Commissioned Writing

It’s been a joy, a challenge and a priviledge to take be a part of many different events over the years. From talks and panels, to teaching, live performance and commissioned writings, below is a flavour of just some of the things I’ve done.

Irish Writers Centre: Masterclass in Blogging, Online Writing & Promotions

I hosted a 3-hour online masterclass where I taught participants how to boost their online presence and craft a successful online persona. This intensive course was open to writers of all levels and gave an insight into the realities of working as a full-time freelancer.

Irish Writers Centre: TikTok for Beginners

I hosted a 90-minute online crash course on teaching people all about TikTok. This course was built for those who are serious about focusing on video content, storytelling, and creativity as part of their work. I shared practical information with tips about how to understand the platform and what to do to maintain ideas.

Culture Night: DIY Gaeilge

I was the Irish language ambassador for Culture Night 2020, an annual, nationwide event that celebrates creativity and arts in Ireland, and as part of that, hosted a free hour-long webinar called DIY Gaeilge. The event was an online crash course on Irish language resources aimed at beginners and relearners.

Cúirt International Festival: Overconnection

I was commissioned by Cúirt International Festival of Literature to create a live piece for their Opening Night. I titled it “Overconnection”, see below:

Drew University Conference

In 2018, I was invited to be a keynote speaker at Drew University’s Transatlantic Connections in Bundoran, Co. Donegal. My talk was titled: “We Are Irish: It’s More Than a Matter of Skin”
